Northern Norway, 1880s.

A remote fjord settlement, cut off by snow and winter storms.

You're a visitor. You do not belong here.

A whaling ship drifted back into the harbor with her cargo still in the hold and not a single soul aboard. Since then, the town has gone quiet. Doors are bolted. Salt lines the thresholds. Iron bristles from every doorframe. The mirrors are covered.

No one will explain why.

Walk the empty residential lanes. Peer through shuttered windows. Overhear conversations you weren't meant to catch. Climb the hill to the old stone church, where a woman lighting candles might tell you what the town is afraid of... If you ask the right questions. Stand in the graveyard at the cliff's edge and look out at the maelstrom, the havsvelgr, the sea-swallower, churning in the dark water below.

Havsvelgr is a short atmospheric horror game about superstition, isolation, and the things that come back from the deep. Features procedural dark ambient sound design. Best experienced with headphones.
